Can you tell us a bit about the media’s history and profile? The 405 is an independent Music & Culture website renowned for discovering and championing the best in music, film, art, tech and fashion.

The website was founded in 2008 and has since gone on to form substantial partnerships with numerous music festivals (Green Man, Iceland Airwaves, Le Guess Who? to name but a few), receive multiple awards, and work with companies like the BBC and Red Bull.

The 405 has grown into an influential force and international team. We’re here to provide content across the leading trends in culture.

– and a bit about the acts you personally have covered recently? With interviews, album reviews and single write ups; I have covered acts recently including Billie Marten, MØ, Ry X, Aurora, SOAK and many more.

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music? Having been involved with music my whole life; I always knew naturally that music was the only career path for me. As well as working as a journalist for The 405, I also work in various other paths across the industry. Being surrounded by music is the best job I could have ever asked for.

Who are you looking forward to seeing at Spot Festival this year? Truly I’m more excited to discover new acts and really think this is what my aims are of the weekend. Already a huge fan of names like Oh Land, CHINAH but excited to learn some new names to champion!

Best show you’ve ever seen hands down? Difficult question: I’ll break it down to three. Locally, I enjoyed an intimate show with an upcoming band called Far Caspian recently. Nationally Nilufer Yanya was incredible to watch recently at Hackney’s Eart(H). Internationally I recently enjoyed watching Billie Eilish and seeing all the hype take form in a live show, which was impressive and super dramatised.
