Once again this year, we are inviting several key international industry professionals to attend SPOT Festival. All of them will be joining us at the MXD Superball @ RADAR as part of the SPOT+ programme, but until the festival kicks off on May 4th, we will be bringing you brief introductions to them, including where they come from, what companies they work for, what bands they want to check out at SPOT, and much more. We look forward to seeing Doron Davidson-Vidavski of The 405.

Name: Doron Davidson-Vidavski

Media: The 405

Title: Music Journalist

Based in: London

Can you tell us a bit about the media’s history?
The 405 is an award-winning, online Music & Culture magazine based in the UK, formed in 2008 during the great blog boom.

– and a bit about what The 405 has been up to this year?
This year has been about building on our new website design, pushing the non-music sections to higher heights.

What was the moment you personally decided you wanted to work with music?
[*Cliché Alert*] Music has been my primary passion from a very early age and I’d say that every record I’ve ever loved from my childhood onwards has made me want to work with music. I was a music lawyer for several years and an accidental review of a Saint Etienne Christmas gig subsequently threw me in the direction of writing about music more extensively.

What are your favorite Danish acts and who are you looking forward to seeing at Spot Festival this year?
I’m a big Asbjørn fan. His songwriting, voice, artistry and talent are incredible and he’s an inordinately nice guy, too. In terms of this year’s Spot festival, I am most excited about seeing Sigrid live. I saw her make a brief cameo at her brother, Tellef Raabe’s London gig last year and she stole the show.

Best show ever of your life, hands down?
iamamiwhoami’s debut public performance on the Linné stage at Way Out West Festival in 2011. As you’d expect, there was nothing predictable about it.
