In the weeks leading up to SPOT Festival 2025, we’ll be introducing you to the international industry professionals who have been invited to this year’s festival by Danish artists and music companies through MXD’s new invitation pool.

Here, you can meet:

Name: Florian Schneider

Company: VISIONS Verlag GmbH

Title: Editor

Based in: Dortmund, Germany

Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?

In its more than 30 years lasting history VISIONS Magazine became one of the longest running and biggest music magazines in Germany. It’s focused on all kinds of guitar driven music from Shoegaze to Indierock, from Dreampop to Black Metal, from Hardcore to Punk.

And can you tell us a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?

There’s no particular moment. As a teenager music was everything for me, I played in bands .- unseccuesful – of course and stayed a music fan even when I was studying film- and television studies. After I finished my studies I applied for an internship at an music magazine – and since then I’m a music journalist.

Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?

Not a particular one. The best thing about festivals like SPOT is that you can discover bands you never heard from before.

Best show you’ve ever seen hands down?

Tough one. Maybe Nomeansno at Roskilde Festival way back in the 90s. But I’m sure it will change by tomorrow as I have seen so many good bands in my life.
