BRIMHEIM

Where the waves break, where water meets rock and life meets soil, Brimheim finds a peculiar form of freedom – one which births light from darkness. From cyclical rhythms and harmonies, the Danish-Faroese singer, songwriter and world observer melts together Scandinavian music. Brimheim navigates between art-pop, trip-hop and indie rock. “Someone please sign Brimheim to a record deal in the USA. More people need to hear this remarkable music!“ wrote DJ Kevin Cole from KEXP, after placing her in his top albums of the year, and we couldn’t agree more! Watch a KEXP session of Brimheim as a preview of the show at ESNS here.

Live at Eurosonic: Friday 20 January – 23.00-23.45h – Forum theater

JJ PAULO

JJ Paulo was born in Tanzania and raised in Denmark. Paulo has spent his life cultivating Tanzanian traditional Sukuma culture and today he is proud that his music reflects exactly that. His concerts are often described as ‘a kiss of African culture’. JJ Paolo played Roskilde festival last year and did this session with KEXP. In the UK, Raffaella Coleman of the BBC said: “JJ, you are an absolute star and when you blow up don’t forget about us”. Listen here.
