Publishing is a growing field in the music industry. It can be both a way of getting instant publicity (for instance, by getting your song to feature in a commercial) or a key partnership for a long and healthy songwriting career.

A publishing deal can be a great way to expand in new markets. We’ve listed a few German music publishers to look out for the next time you get the chance to meet some industry professionals (don’t forget Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg September 23rd-26th, by the way!).

Most major multinational publishers are represented in Germany and typically report back to head offices in London or New York. For several of these, A&R responsibilities for Nordic repertoire belongs to the Swedish head office – although this often depends on where the copyright holder is most active.
