We’re back with our MXD-Spotlight series! This time we’re showing you the faces of the music industry at Reeperbahn Festival. Here’s some of the people who attended MXD’s Networking event prior to the Danish Night at Reeperbahn.

Do you know any of the bands playing tonight? Yeah, I know Mads Langer and I really look forward to hearing Blaue Blume

Are you looking for any genres in particular for your festival? We’re mostly looking for indie music.

What are you looking for here at Reeperbahn? First of all, bands I don’t know. I think the White Album looks very interesting. I’m primarily interested in World and Folk music.

Name: Bernard Batzen, Azimuth

So, what are you doing here at Reeperbahn? I’m looking to work with Danish bands, actually. I’m looking forward to seeing The White Album tonight.

Are you looking for any genres in particular? No, we have a very broad roster and are interested in all genres. I’m very familiar with the Danish music scene, actually. I used to book the French names for Roskilde Festival, and once I arranged a train from Copenhagen to the French Festival Printemps de Bourges with Danish bands and 100 guests. I’ve worked with Den Sorte Skole as well.

Name: Hervé Letenour, coordinator at BIC

What do you do at BIC? I work with local bands from Lille and help promote them internationally. I’m here at Danish Night just to discover some new music and meet some people.

Name: Nicolas Lefevre, La Cave aux Poétes, venue

What do you do for a living? I’m a manager and I do artist management. I mostly promote local bands, but I’m looking to get involved in European development projects. I’m here to check out The White Album.

Which artists are you working with? The Jooles, Fight the Bear, MIU, Tipps Für Wilhelm and I’m here to check out The White Album.

Which genres are you generally looking for? Mostly pop, indie and soul.

Name: Niels Jessen, Roskilde Festival

Hi Niels, what do you do at Roskilde Festival? I’m responsible for most things involving commerce. I’m currently working with cashless systems to use at the festival. So I’m here for networking and inspiration.

Name: Olaf Furniss, Born to be Wide

What do you do at Born to be Wide? I run events in Scotland for the music industry. One of them is Wide Days.

What are you doing here at Reeperbahn? I’m looking for collaborations with other industry conventions, who’re looking to bring music and tourism together.
