In the weeks leading up to SPOT Festival 2026, we’ll be introducing you to the international industry professionals who have been invited to this year’s festival by Danish artists and music companies through MXD’s new invitation pool.
Here, you can meet:

Name: Axel Franzen
Company: Rama Lama Records
Title: Co-founder
Based in: Stockholm, SE
Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?
Rama Lama Records is a Stockholm based indie label. Since 2016 we’ve released music by a bunch of mostly Swedish, and a few Danish, acts as well as hosted label nights all over Sweden, Denmark and Germany. A few of the acts we work with at the moment is Copenhagen’s Kindsight, Mary Anne’s Polar Rig, Erik Sandqvist, Gula Blend. Besides Rama Lama I also work with the labels PNKSLM Recordings and Pygmalion Musik as well as the Stockholm festivals Echo Three Fest and Fools Gold.
And can you tell us a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?
Kindsight – Copenhagen based indie rock band that are just finishing their third album. Mary Anne’s Polar Rig – Malmö/Copenhagen based band that is just mental in the best way as they move through shifting landscapes of fuzz, frenzy, and fragile beauty. Erik Sandqvist – instrumental music with something to tell, just released his third album. Jazz for people that might not think they like jazz. Check it out! Duschpalatset – Swedish indie pop that sounds like a Lukas Moodyson movie (is that someone anyone outside of Sweden knows about?) Gula Blend – melodic Swedish indie rock with a great live show ..and many many others that I can tell you about when we meet.
What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?
Going to my first proper gig as a 16 year old that was a The Hives secret show at legendary Stockholm punk venue Kafé 44. As I was laying over the stage feeling like my leg was gonna break I just wanted to help create that sensation for more people. Didn’t think it was gonna be that many emails and spreadsheets to do so though.
Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?
Mary Anne’s Polar Rig & Bending Backwards! But always up for discovering new stuff through just going around different venues.
Best show you’ve ever seen hands down?
Maybe not the most alternative answer but saying anything else than Paul McCartney at Roskilde 2015 would be a lie.
