In the weeks leading up to SPOT Festival 2026, we’ll be introducing you to the international industry professionals who have been invited to this year’s festival by Danish artists and music companies through MXD’s new invitation pool.

Here, you can meet:

Name: Marcel Artis
Company: Public Secret / Artis Entertainment Group
Title: Founder/ COO
Based in: Los Angeles, CA

Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?

I’m the Founder and CEO of Artis Entertainment Group and the COO of Public Secret. Artis Entertainment Group was founded to support artists, producers, and DJs on a global level through music releases, artist development, and strategic partnerships. Over the years we’ve worked with collaborators involved in Billboard number one records, Grammy winning and Grammy nominated projects, as well as music featured in film and television. Our collaborators have also received major recognition including an American Music Award nomination for Best Hip Hop Album with Eminem and a Dove Award for Best Gospel Album. Alongside that role, I serve as COO of Public Secret, a collective and label focused on forward thinking electronic music. Public Secret works with DJs and producers across the melodic house, afro house, and organic house scenes, helping develop artists through releases, touring, and global collaborations. Between both companies we work with artists and producers internationally, building careers and connecting music communities across different parts of the world.

And can you tell us a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?

At the moment I’m working closely with several DJs and producers through Public Secret who are building momentum internationally within melodic and organic electronic music. Artists like Miss Javi, Max Mignot, Rameff, Liam Fitzgerald, and Renee are all part of that circle. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the scene, whether through production, live performances, or touring internationally. My role is helping guide strategy around releases, bookings, and partnerships so they can continue growing their audience globally. At the same time, through Artis Entertainment Group I continue working with producers and artists across multiple genres including hip hop, electronic, and gospel.

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?

Music has always been something that brought people together for me. The moment it really clicked was seeing how powerful it can be when a room full of people connects through the same sound. As I started working more closely with artists and producers, I realized I loved building the structure behind the creativity, helping artists turn their ideas into careers. That naturally led me into developing companies focused on supporting artists and helping them grow globally.

Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?

I’m really looking forward to discovering new artists at SPOT, but a few names I’m excited to see are Erika de Casier, Icekiid, and School of X. They each represent different sides of the Danish music scene, from electronic and alternative pop to hip hop. Festivals like SPOT are exciting because they bring together artists who are shaping the next wave of music, and it’s always inspiring to see how different sounds and cultures intersect in one place.

Best show you’ve ever seen hands down?

One of the most unforgettable sets I’ve ever experienced was RÜFÜS DU SOL at Burning Man. The atmosphere at Burning Man is already something special, but that set was on another level. The combination of their music, the open desert, and thousands of people sharing that moment together created an experience that felt almost spiritual. It’s one of those performances where everything aligned perfectly, the sound, the energy of the crowd, and the environment. Moments like that remind you why live music and festivals can be so powerful.
