SPOTlight 2014 part four

This weekend, we’re SPOTlighting some of the more than 350 foreign and 800 Danish music industry people attending SPOT Festival 2014. We’ve asked them a couple of questions and here are their answers:

Name: Frederik Juul Jensen, DK – Enough Said Music

Hi Frederik, have you been to SPOT festival before? No, this is my first time.

Are there any concerts that you’re looking forward to in particular? I’m really excited about Sekuoia and Byrta from The Faroe Islands.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? If not Sekuoia, then Psyched Up Janis.

Name: Dirk Steenhaut, BE – Knack Focus

Is this your first time at SPOT? Actually it’s my eleventh consecutive time!

Which concerts are you looking forward to the most this year? I’m mostly looking forward to discovering something new. But I’m pretty excited about Broken Twin and Get Your Gun.

Which Danish band is your favorite? Under Byen, Efterklang and Kitty Wu.

Name: Lut Hendrix, BE – Bestov

Have you been to SPOT before? No, it’s my first time.

Are you looking forward to any concerts in particular? I haven’t had the time to check out the program, so I’m just gonna go with the flow I guess.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? Murder.

Name: Søren Hansen, DK – The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Hi Søren, what’s your job here at the festival? I’m representing a governmental service called “Invest in Denmark” which offers foreign companies help when they expand their operations to Denmark. So I’m hoping to talk to some of the international music industry who’re represented here.

So how’s it going so far? I just heard Thorsten Freese from Believe Digital speak, and that’s just the kind of company we’re looking to work with. Lots of other possibilities here as well.

Name: Jacob Hansen, DK – Target Group

Hi, have you been to SPOT Festival before? Yes, this is my fourth time, I believe.

Are you looking forward to any concerts in particular this year? Yeah, Black Book Lodge, Kellermensch and Glass.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? That’s a tough one. There’s so many. I’d have to say Black Book Lodge again.

Name: Steffen Foltmar, DK – SF Management

Hi Steffen, is this your first SPOT Festival? It’s my fourth, actually.

Which concert are you most excited about watching this year? Lowly. Amazing band.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? I would say Lowly again.

Name: Mikkel Borbjerg Larsen, DK – The Foreign Resort (management/singer)

Hi, is this your first time at SPOT? No, it’s my fifth.

Are there any concerts in particular that you’re excited about? Shiny Darkly is going to be amazing.

Do you have a favorite Danish band beside your own? Shiny Darkly as well.

Name: Jane Third, UK – Because Music

Is it your first SPOT? Yeah, it is.

Which concerts are you looking forward to the most? Wow, there’s many. Jackal, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Mountains, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? Efterklang.
