SPOTlight 2014 part one

This weekend, we’re SPOTlighting some of the more than 350 foreign and 800 Danish music industry people attending SPOT Festival 2014. We’ve asked them a couple of questions each, and here are their answers:

Is this your first time at SPOT Festival? No, actually it’s my third.

Are there any concerts in particular that you’re looking forward to? I’m just curious to check out new bands. But if I were to pick one… Vinnie Who.

What’s your favorite Danish band? Wow, that’s hard. I can’t decide actually.

Name: Tom Ketelaar, NL – Effenaar

Is this the first time you’ve been to SPOT? It’s my fourth time.

Which concerts do you look forward to at this years’ festival? I’m especially excited about Lower and Communions. I’m gonna go to the Atlas venue later.

What’s your favorite Danish band? Aqua!

Name: Frank van Lambalgen, NL – Nordic Delight

Is this your first time coming to SPOT Festival? It’s my second time.

Which concerts are you particularly looking forward to? That’s hard… There’s so many. I think Adna, Choir of Young Believers and Blaue Blume, of course.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? Yeah, Choir of Young Believers.

Name: Benedict Weskott, DE – CT das radio

Hi, is this your first time at SPOT? Yeah, it is.

Which concerts are you looking forward to the most? Broken Twin, Berta and Kill J!

Do you have a favorite Danish band? There’s almost too many to mention. But I think Efterklang and When Saints Go Machine.

Name: Judith Schmitt, DE – Nordlicht Klub

Have you been to SPOT Festival before? No, I haven’t. It’s my first time.

Which concerts are you most excited for this year? Iceage and Get Your Gun!

Which Danish bands are your favorites? I think Artificial Brothers and Tea Trees.

Name: Sebastian Schweigatz, DE – popup-records

Hi Sebastian, is this your first time at SPOT? No, it’s my third, actually.

Which concerts are you looking forward to the most this year? I’m really excited for Chorus Grant. Alcoholic Faith Mission as well.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? I love Striving Vines!

Name: Christoph Hallerber, DE – popup-records

Have you been to SPOT before? It’s my first time this year.

Are there any concerts that you’re looking forward to in particular this year? Heimatt and Nordlyd, I would say.

Which Danish band is your favorite? I love VETO!

Name: Florian ‘Böde’ Böhlendorf, DE – SPARTA Booking

Is this your first time at SPOT Festival? No, I’ve been here two times before.

Which concerts are you looking forward to the most this year? Wow, there’s so many. One of our own bands, Tusq, I’m really excited for. Other than them Blaue Blume, Reptile Youth, Ring Them Bells.

Name: Bernd Ehnes, DE – Nordlicht Klub

Hi Bernd, is this your first SPOT Festival? It’s my third.

Which bands are you most excited about watching this year? Lovespeed, M.C. Hansen and Iceage, I think. But a lot of others as well.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? I really like Go Go Berlin and Echo Me.

Name: Daniel Treseler, DE – Selective Artists

Hi Daniel, have you been to SPOT before? Yeah, this is my second time.

Are there any concerts you’re looking forward to in particular? Yes! Go Go Berlin, whom we represent. The Malpractice, Lis er Stille and Lower as well.

Do you have a favorite Danish band? Wow, I can’t really decide. The quality is so high, that I can’t name one.
