China has become an increasingly important market for international music, not only within mainstream pop, but also across alternative genres, live music, and underground culture. As global music consumption and streaming continue to reshape export opportunities worldwide, understanding how the Chinese market operates has become increasingly relevant for artists and music companies working internationally.

On June 9th, MXD invites the Danish music industry to join a special session focused on getting closer to the opportunities, challenges, and realities of working within the Chinese music market. Through conversations with two experienced professionals working directly with international repertoire in China, participants will gain first-hand insight into both the business and cultural dynamics shaping the market today.

The event is aimed at everyone working with artists, including managers, labels, publishers, agents, and self-managed artists, who are interested in understanding the Chinese market and building new international perspectives and connections.

Across two sessions, the programme will explore different aspects of the Chinese music industry, ranging from publishing and songwriting collaborations to live, youth culture, and underground music scenes. Together, the sessions aim to give participants a broader understanding of music and culture in one of the world’s most fast-changing and complex music markets.
