Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?

kulturnews is a monthly magazine dealing with music, culture and art. It started in 1990, and today it is distributed in the biggest German cities as a free mag with a run of 200.000 copies. You find kulturnews in venues, clubs, cinemas, cafés and the like.

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?

When I realized that I could talk about an album for hours, but none of my friends would listen to me for that long. But if it’s in print, they can just pretend they read it, and everybody is happy.

Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?

It’s hard to pick a specific act, but as a fan of hip hop I’m definitely looking forward to the Nordic Beats showcase.

Best show you’ve ever seen hands down? 

I might just be romanticizing it because it was the last concert I saw before the pandemic, but Big Thief in 2020 will always have a special place in my heart.
