Her kan du møde:

Name: Oli Isaacs

Company: This Is Music LTD

Title: Founder

Based in: London

Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and its roster?

This Is Music is a boutique music company specialising in the management of artists and producers for the long term, proactively guiding their careers from underground to crossover and beyond. The skilled team of experienced, passionate managers build creatively inspiring and commercially viable artist-led businesses in music. Founded by Oli Isaacs in 2007, This is Music is a London based company with a global presence and truly international networks and relationships. The roster includes James Ford, BICEP, Jayda G, Roosevelt and Ross From Friends. Clients have been recognised at the Mercurys, BRITS and Grammys. In 2021, BICEP and This Is Music received the Innovation Award at the Music Managers Forum, Artist and Manager Awards.

And can you tell us a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?

My role includes managing managers as much as the artists at this point. I do not undertake any day to day management activity but work at a higher level across all the client projects in the company, focusing on strategy, business development and deals.

What was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?

After working as a criminal defence lawyer for a while as well as promoting live music and DJ shows on the side, in 2003 I realised that I could marry my legal career with my obsession with music and become a music lawyer. That led to managing some legal clients and from there to setting up a management company.

Which acts are you looking forward to seeing this year at SPOT?

Astrid Sonne, School of X, First Hate, Bette, eee gee, M Byrd.

Best show you’ve ever seen hands down?

ATP nightmare before Xmas 2007 Portishead.
