[MXD Networking @ SPOT] Meet Ink Music

Once again this year, we are inviting several key international industry professionals to attend SPOT Festival. All of them will be joining us at the MXD Superball @ RADAR as part of the SPOT+ programme, but until the festival kicks off on May 4th, we will be bringing you brief introductions to them, including where they come from, what companies they work for, what bands they want to check out at Spot, and much more. We’re looking forward to seeing Jürgen Distler of Ink Music.

Can you tell us a bit about the company’s history and roster?
The Vienna-based music agency Ink Music was founded in 2001 and is an important player in the Austrian artist development scene. With its main focus on booking, sync and publishing, as well as label and artist management, the agency contributes its knowledge and experience to several projects (like JA JA JA Festival) and several bands’ careers (like Leyya, Bilderbuch, Ezra Furman, Sohn, Farewell Dear Ghost and many more).

– and a bit about the acts you personally work with at this moment?
We had a lot of exciting releases till now in this year, like Cari Cari, Catastrophe & Cure, Garish, SAFARI, Daffodils or Leyya.

When was the moment you decided you wanted to work with music?
When I first listened to Night Rocker. Needless to say it was in kindergarden:)

What are your favorite Danish acts?
Phlake, D/troit, AV AV AV

Best live show of your life, hands down?
Can´t answer that because of too many good shows. Best shows last year were Astronautalis, Support: Ceschi, in Arena Wien
