On January 30th, Copenhell freezes over as 6 up and coming Metal bands take the stage at VEGA. Besides witnessing the bands, you’ll get the chance to meet the key Metal industry people, who’ll be attending the networking event prior to the concerts. Over the next weeks, MXD will introduce you to some of the people, whom you’ll get to meet.
Name & company: Jens Preuter, Century Media Records
Tell us about your work: I’m the Head of A&R at Century Media Records, Europe. Responsible for all new signings, leading the rest of the A&R and product manager team, developing marketing concepts, consulting for back catalog campaigns and some boring office management work.
What bands do you work with? As of right now, in alphabetical order: Arch Enemy, Black Temple, Bombus, Dark Tranquillity, Dead Soul, Entombed A.D., Eyehategod, Finntroll, Hexvessel, Insomnium, Oceans Of Slumber, Paradise Lost, Queensryche, Sanctuary, Terror, The Shrine, Tribulation, Vallenfyre, Watain, Zoax + I’m supervising the entire CM artist roster which is a bit too long to list 😉
Do you work with any Danish artists? No, not right now. We used to have Mercenary on the label, but that’s a long time ago. But I just stumbled upon the great Danish label El Paraiso Records and a few of their albums. Not very “Metal”, but very interesting!
Who plays the meanest Metal shows these days? Watain. It’s an intense experience for all your senses. It even smells bad.
