Applications are now open to be part of the Nomex Nordic Trade Mission to Tokyo, Japan, taking place on the 3–5 December 2024, and together with our colleagues from Sweden and Norway.

Japan, the world’s second-largest music market, remains strong in terms of physical sales—making up 55% of the market—but the country is also experiencing rapid growth in streaming. This dynamic change together with strong purchasing power, music interest and population make Japan a highly interesting market for the Danish music industry.

The trade delegation will provide participants with deeper insights into the Japanese music market and help them prepare for the ongoing change. This is particularly relevant for record labels, publishers and management looking to expand their presence in Japan.

The program  for the industry professionals in Tokyo includes company visits, inspirational keynotes and other business development and networking opportunities. During last year’s visit, we met companies such as Sony Music Publishing, TikTok and Spotify, and participated in keynote presentations and Q&A sessions with, among others, CTGA, Vegas PR and Hybe Japan.

To apply as a business professionals to the Trade Mission please apply here.

Like last year, a songwriting camp will also be taking part parallel to the Trade Mission, more information will be released soon on this and how to apply as a songwriter.

As a confirmed participant of the trade mission you are eligible for MXD’s travel support to Business Professionals.

Application deadline is Tuesday November 5th, 2024. 23:59. Applications received after this won’t be taken into account.
